Man, 20, arrested for alleged sexual assault of 15-year-old

A 20-year-old Calimesa man was arrested early this morning in San Jacinto on suspicion of sexual assault of a juvenile after he was found in a vehicle with a 15-year-old girl.

A deputy on patrol about 2:20 a.m. in the area of Palm and Esplanade avenues noticed a suspicious vehicle behind a building, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Duckett.

“Upon a closer look of the vehicle, he found Joshua Blake Simmering … inside the car,” Duckett said. “Also inside the car was a 15-year-old female juvenile. Further investigation revealed Simmering gained the juvenile’s confidence over the internet and had been engaging in a sexual relationship with her.”

Investigators fear there may be other victims and urged anyone with information about this or other similar incidents to call them at the sheriff’s Hemet Station at (951) 791-3400.
