4-year-old hospitalized after nearly drowning

A four-year-old has been hospitalized after nearly drowning in a Cathedral City home.

Wednesday, just before 6 pm, Cathedral City police officers and paramedics were dispatched to a residence on the 69000 block of El Dobe Rd after receiving reports that the four-year-old child had fallen into the family’s pool and was not breathing.

According to a news release by the Cathedral City Police Department, officers arrived on scene and found that the child had been removed from the pool by relatives of the child, and they were attempting to resuscitate the child. Officers took over resuscitative efforts until the paramedics arrived and transported the child to a local hospital.
