Child molestation charges filed against Cathedral City man
A four-count criminal complaint was filed today against a Cathedral City man accused of molesting a girl at a Palm Desert resort.
Ismael Gaspar, 35, was due in court this afternoon on three counts of committing lewd acts on a child and one count of burglary — all felonies.
Gaspar allegedly molested the girl — identified only as Jane Doe and being under the age of 14 in court documents — on March 20 at the Marriott Shadow Ridge Resort in the 36500 block of Monterey Avenue.
An investigation began last Thursday afternoon, said sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright, but further details on the alleged molestation were not disclosed.
Gaspar was arrested Monday near 30th Avenue and Landau Boulevard in Cathedral City, and was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio, with bail set at $55,000.
The defendant has no prior felony convictions in Riverside County, according to court records.
