Truck mows down mailboxes in Desert Hot Springs

A wh pickup truck crashed into several mailboxes and then came to a rest in front of a residence near the intersection of Camino Campanero & Avenue Manzana in Desert Hot Springs. The accident occurred at approximately 7:55 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol news release.

The driver of the vehicle, 60-year-old Les Cser of Desert Hot Springs, appeared to suffer from a medical emergency, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and crash into eight mailboxes and a fence. He also sideswiped a vehicle parked on Via Montana. His truck, a 2005 white Dodge Ram pickup truck, eventually came to a halt feet short of the home.

Cser did not sustain any injuries and was wearing a seatbelt. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
