Man out on bail arrested for attempted murder

A man out on bail for a previous weapons-related arrest has been arrested for attempted murder, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department announced Wednesday.

Jorge Gilbert was arrested Wednesday for an attempted murder that occurred on March 30. Gilbert had been out on bail after being arrested by DHSPD on March 29 for allegedly failing to stop when prompted by police and then leading police on a foot pursuit. He was out on bail the same day.

Police haven’t released details on the attempted murder at this time.

At around 6:30 pm, DHSPD officers and members of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force served a search warrant in the 9300 block of Calle Barranca in connection with this case.

Gilbert has been booked into the Riverside County Jail in Banning on multiple charges including a no-bail warrant for attempted murder.
