Woman accused of setting fire to a Palm Desert hotel pleads not guilty to arson charges.
CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers, with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Tiana Marie Hughes, for allegedly setting fire to the Embassy Suites in Palm Desert Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a single room. According to Cal Fire, the fire caused $80,000 in damages to the hotel.
Hughes was charged Friday morning with one count of arson. She pleaded not guilty and will be back in court April 27th for a bail hearing.
Hughes is currently in custody at Robert Presley Detention Center in Banning on $55,000 bail.
