The annual FIND Food Bank Telethon, hosted live on CBS Local 2 Friday night, raised more than $185,000.
The phone lines were open until 11 p.m., giving Coachella Valley residents the opportunity to open their hearts and Step Up to the Plate to help lend a helping hand to those in need. While the phone lines may be closed, the opportunity to donate has not ended.
To donate, call (760)-775-FOOD (3663) or go online to www.findfoodbank.org/donate.
Check back int he coming days to learn the final total raised!
FIND Food Bank can’t survive without your help; in the fiscal year from 2016 to 2017, the organization saw nearly 4,800 volunteers put in over 15,500 hours of service.
And over the last seven years, the telethon has raised over half a million dollars – FIND exists thanks to the charitable donation of time and money.
Every donation, big and small, can make a real impact in the community; for each dollar donated, FIND can provide 7 meals to those in need. Each year, FIND distributes 10+ million pounds of food assistance, more than half as fresh fruits and vegetables. Each month, over 85,000 people access some form of food assistance through FIND’s distribution network.
