Gas station closed due to car crashing into it

A driver crashed an Audi into a gas station in Thousand Palms, causing significant damage to the building, but no serious injuries were reported.

The crash was reported at 7:09 a.m. at the Chevron gas station at 72276 Ramon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to April Newman of Cal Fire the driver was not injured but the building sustained “significant cosmetic damage, and was shut down until the county Department of Building and Safety determines whether to “red-tag” the building as a result of the damage.”

The cause of the crash was under investigation
