Motorist identified in deadly Palm Springs traffic collision
A motorist killed in a collision at the Gene Autry Trail and Interstate 10 overpass was identified early Tuesday morning.
Jeannine Hill, 57, of Desert Hot Springs died at Desert Regional Medical Center shortly after the two-vehicle collision.
Gene Autry Trail reopened to traffic at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Palm Springs police said a truck and a Prius collided on the overpass. Hill suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office said Hill was pronounced dead a half hour later at 7:35 p.m.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. Police do not suspect drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the crash at this time.
