Rentals still available for Coachella Weekend
Festival season is great for businesses and hotels but it’s not so great if you’re someone who still needs to find a place to stay. We are less than three days away from weekend one of the Coachella Music & Arts Festival and many hotels and vacation rentals are sold out.
From spare rooms and RVs to tents and hotels, if you haven’t booked a place to stay for Coachella you still have some options, but the bad news is, you might have to pay a pretty penny.
An online search reveals a teepee tent listed on Air BnB for $350 a night.
But if roughing it isn’t your thing there are some other options. Nikki Dyer with Desert Luxury Estates says her company still has availability.
“Anyone in the vacation rental industry will tell you this is our busiest time of year. It’s a little chaotic. It’s a little fun. It’s exciting,” Dyer said.
She says vacation rentals are a great option if you’ve got a big group.
“We have some massive pads still available we have some more budget-friendly homes available but if you need a place to stay and you don’t want to stay in someone’s tent in Indio in the backyard this is it this is your place,” Dyer said.
A quick search on trip advisor shows there are still have some hotel options available but it won’t be cheap.
Matt Lavine with Miramonte says they’re sold out for weekend 1, but they’ve got some openings weekend 2 and Stagecoach.
“We’re fully committed this weekend. We actually do have some rooms Coachella weekend number 2 and also Stagecoach so we invite you to come over and spend some time and enjoy the festivities at our resort,” Lavine said.
There is always the chance someone cancels last minute, so keep checking online or call.
Just as a reminder to residents during festival weekends, if you want to report a disturbance you can always contact your city’s resident hotline to report an issue. Officials say it’s best to contact them at the time of the issue, not after the fact, that way it can be dealt with immediately.
