One killed in solo vehicle crash on 10 freeway near Banning

One person was killed Thursday in an early morning crash on Intestate 10 in Banning.

The solo vehicle crash happened at just before 4:30 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10, west of Hargrave Street. At least one person was confirmed dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Cal Fire, Riverside County firefighters are working at the crash scene with the assistance of the Morongo Valley Fire Department.

Cal Fire officials said there were three occupants inside the vehicle. One person was thrown from the vehicle, a second was trapped, and the third was outside the vehicle when firefighters arrived. The person who was ejected from the vehicle was the one who died at the scene.

Fire officials said the other two were taken to area hospitals. One victim had serious injuries while the other had minior injuries.

The crash happened on the Ramsey Street onramp to eastbound Interstate, according to Caltrans. All eastbound freeway lanes are cleared. Stay with KESQ & CBS Local 2 for any new developments.
