Free forum for local business owners to be held in Palm Springs
Local business leaders seeking to learn strategies to help their businesses thrive, and get up-to-date on the latest trends affecting local commerce, are invited to a free forum at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Monday.
The city and the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the forum, which will include discussions on tourism, economic incentives, job creation, the city’s new sign ordinance and how the city is addressing homelessness and crime prevention.
“The Business Forum is a fantastic way for the Palm Springs business community to meet with city leaders. Chambers and tourism officials let us know how we can better partner with them and help them prosper,” said Nona Watson, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. “Palm Springs is currently experiencing a tremendous economic renaissance, but there is always room for improvement and we want to ensure we are inclusive and listening to the needs of everyone.”
Watson is among the featured speakers, along with City Council members Geoff Kors and Christy Holstege, who serve on the Palm Springs Economic Development/Business Retention subcommittee. Palm Springs Convention Center Executive Director James Canfield and Palm Springs Police Chief Bryan Reyes will also speak.
Other issues affecting the business community will also be addressed during a second community forum on May 1, to be attended by Kors and Councilman J.R. Roberts.
