Lockouts lifted at 2 Indio schools after police sweep of the area

UPDATE – 1:30 p.m. – The lockout has been lifted at Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary.

Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School in Indio is currently under lockout due to police activity in the area, according to Mary Perry, the public information officer for the Desert Sands Unified School District.

Carilo Ranch Elementary School was also under lockout, but it has since been lifted. Classes for the day will resume as scheduled.

Indio Police is currently sweeping the area of Clinton Street and Alberta Drive searching for a suspect.

It is not known at this time what the suspect is wanted for.
