Woman injured, dog dead after Palm Springs collision
A woman was injured, and her dog killed, after being struck by a vehicle in Palm Springs Tuesday evening.
The collision was reported just before 7:50 p.m. along the 400 block of South Sunrise Road.
Palm Springs Police officers said they arrived on scene and determined the woman was not in a crosswalk as she crossed the street with her dog.
The woman suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The dog died from its injuries, police confirmed.
The vehicle’s driver was cooperating with the investigation. Police said neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the collision.
Roads in the area were closed for a short time.
