Seven arrested in Gang Task Force operation
Police arrested seven people for various offenses in Desert Hot Springs Wednesday.
An anti-gang police operation was conducted by the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force throughout the city of Desert Hot Springs. The purpose was to combat recent gang crime in the city, according to a news release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Seven people were arrested for various offenses including vehicle theft, possession of narcotics for sales and possession of brass knuckles.
The news release identified the following people who were booked into the Larry Smith Detention Center in Banning:
Gilberto Salazar, 42, of Desert Hot Springs arrested for Vehicle Theft.
Cassey Fite, 27, of Desert Hot Springs arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales and Violation of Parole.
Darold Ballard, 46, of Desert Hot Springs arrested for Contempt of Court Warrant.
Julian Barela, 34, of Desert Hot Springs arrested for Possession of Brass Knuckles.
