CV Repertory Theatre holds groundbreaking fundraising celebration

A groundbreaking celebration was held for the Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre in Cathedral City.

The cv rep gathered on the lawn in front of their future home at the former IMAX theater on East Palm Canyon. Back in June 2016, CV Rep signed an agreement to purchase the IMAX Theater to expand from the Atrium Theater where they currently hold their performances.

The expansion will keep the intimate experience of live theater by adding more room for the audience.

“This is a dream for generations to come. To not only be able to see performing arts, but to also have an educational program that will support the youth of our valley for generations to come,” said Ron Celona, the founding artistic director for CV Rep.

CV Rep said their goal is to open the theater by March 2019.
