Investigation opened regarding rental ordinace mailer

The city of Palm Springs is now under investigation because of a controversial mailer sent to voters about the ban on vacation rentals otherwise known as Measure C.

The California Fair Political Practices Commission has now opened an active investigation into the mailer. The “Yes on Measure C” committee said it is misleading and has distorted facts to support the “No on Measure C” movement in the city.

Palm Springs’ City Attorney Edward Kotkin said the complaints are baseless and that the city has not violated any law or regulation.
