One killed in Whitewater River crash
One person is dead after a vehicle crashed into the Whitewater River near the intersection of Highway 111 and Overture Drive in Whitewater. The crash was reported at 12:45 p.m.
CHP is awaiting personnel with proper equipment to remove the vehicle, a Toyota Camry, from the water. The right lane of northbound Highway 111 has been shut down during the investigation.
According to Cal Fire, there was only one occupant of the vehicle.
It has not been declared a crime scene at this time.
