Coroner identifies two people killed in Friday’s Thermal crash
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people killed in a car crash Friday night in Thermal.
Angel Salinas, 19, and Jacob Carrillo, 17, both from Coachella, were pronounced dead at the scene after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pierce Street and Airport Boulevard in Thermal Friday night shortly after 8:10 p.m.
Carrillo was a junior at Coachella Valley High School, according to his family.
First responders had reported seeing one of the two vehicles fully engulfed in fire when they first arrived on scene.
A third person suffered moderate injuries in the crash. Officials haven’t released details on what caused the crash.
