Riverside gas prices 70 cents higher than last Memorial Day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose three-tenths of a cent for the second straight day today to $3.706, its highest amount on Memorial Day since 2015.

The average price has risen 19 times in the past 21 days, increasing 9.6 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, 12.3 cents higher than one month ago and 70 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 63.3 cents since the start of the year.
