Victim identified in fatal Coachella rollover crash, family & friends raise money for funeral

Authorities released the name of a 22-year-old Indio woman who died in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Coachella this weekend. Alezia Carmona was pronounced dead at the scene, while another victim was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

There is no update on the health status of the second victim at this time.

The accident occurred off Highway 86 in the parking lot of the Spotlight 29 casino at 46200 Harrison Place, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The crash investigation is being overseen by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Alezia’s family to help pay for her funeral expenses. The page description, written by Carmona’s mother, reads:

“Our families are uniting to raise money for funeral services for my daughter Alezia Carmona. With heavy hearts[,] we ask for your help in raising money to put my beautiful daughter to rest. There is no amount of support to small at this time. God knows our needs and we have faith that with help of family and friends we will reach our goal. God bless you in advance. Any questions please contact me directly.”

The page had raised $1,100 of its $5,000 with the help of 17 donors at the time of this publication. The campaign was launched on Sunday evening. To donate, click here.
