Riverside County Central Homicide unit investigates Perris shooting death

The Riverside County Central Homicide Unit is actively investigating a shooting death in Perris.

On June 14, Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Perris station responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon on the 20500 block of Santa Rosa Mine Road in the unincorporated area referred to as Lake Matthews. They arrived on the scene shortly before 7:00 p.m. and found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds on the property.

The victim later succumbed to their injuries. The victim’s identity has not be released at this time.

The active investigation has since been handed over to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit.

No further information is being released at this time. A press release is being released this afternoon.
