2300+ customer outage in Palm Springs caused by palm frond, service restored

A power outage which affected over 2300 Southern California Edison customers in Palm Springs was caused by a palm frond which damaged electrical equipment according to a Southern California Edison spokesperson.

The outage was reported at 12:08 p.m. The cause has not yet been determined. Southern California Edison has not responded to KESQ & CBS Local 2’s request for comment.

Service was restored for all but one customer around 1:00 p.m. today.
