This really shows the danger of these fireworks and why they are illegal – causing harm to people and even starting brush fires &#lt;a href=”https://t.co/KTi7ta6E99″&#gt;pic.twitter.com/KTi7ta6E99&#lt;/a&#gt;&#lt;/p&#gt;– Jake Ingrassia (@JakeKESQ) &#lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/JakeKESQ/status/1012041680894038016?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”&#gt;June 27, 2018&#lt;/a&#gt;&#lt;/blockquote&#gt;n&#lt;script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″&#gt;&#lt;/script&#gt;n”,”width”:550,”height”:null,”type”:”rich”,”cache_age”:”3153600000″,”provider_name”:”Twitter”,”provider_url”:”https://twitter.com”,”version”:”1.0″}
Officials used mannequins and watermelons to show the force packed into a firework and what could happen if don’t let go fast enough or stand too close.

Some aerial fireworks ignited small brush fires later extinguished by crews.
Authorities are emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for any offenders.
“If you start a fire using these fireworks you will be prosecuted for a felony offense and serve real time in prison,” said Stephanie Weissman of the District Attorney’s office.
Cal Fire officials hope they have sent a strong enough message to deter firework use.
“Illegal fireworks and safe and sane fireworks cause fires, they injure people, they endanger the public,” said Cal Fire Chief Daniel R. Talbot.
In certain cities, “safe and sane” fireworks are actually legal and sold at stands throughout the county like Indio, Blythe, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, and Coachella.
Talbot urges that if you are going to be using fireworks this 4th of July, to do so while sober, follow instructions carefully, and always have a fire extinguisher ready.
Officials recommend if you do want to see a 4th of July fireworks show to go to one sanctioned by your city with trained professionals.
