Abandoned Palm Desert house sutains $450K in damages following fire
An abandoned Palm Desert home that caught fire on the Fourth of July sustained an estimated $450,000 in damage, authorities said.
The cause of the fire, which was reported at 11:18 p.m. Wednesday in the 74400 block of Old Prospector Trail, was under investigation, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The home was well-involved in flames when firefighters arrived, Hagemann said.
The 29 firefighters assigned to the fire put out the flames at 11:45 p.m., she said. No injuries were reported.
