Alleged Palm Desert child molester charged with 11 counts, held on $4.5-million bail

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies warn there could be more victims of a Palm Desert man who was arrested for sexual assault on two little girls.

54-year-old James Adkins was arrested Friday on Catalina Way in Palm Desert and was
booked into the Indio Jail on suspicion of 11 counts related to sexual assault of a minor, according to jail records and is being held behind bars in Indio with a $4.5-million dollar bail. Deputies said that in March of 2018, they responded to a home in La Quinta where a woman reported that her former roommate, identified as Adkins, had molested her six-year-old daughter. After investigating further, deputies found there were previous allegations that he had molested another six-year-old in Palm Desert.
