Convicted sex offender arrested for flashing
Palm Desert Police have caught the Civic Center Park flasher. Cody Edwin Larson, 25, was arrested at 7:07 a.m. Tuesday at an undisclosed address on San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert (Civic Center Park is located off San Pablo Avenue.)
Larson, a convicted sex offender, was booked into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on a misdemeanor charge of failure to register as a sex offender and a felony charge of indecent exposure.
Larson’s rap sheet in Riverside County is extensive; his most recent arrest came on November 6, when he was arrested on Portola Avenue in Palm Desert for indecent exposure. He pled guilty in May and was sentenced to one year in county jail, but was released with credit for time served.
On Monday, Deputies went to the Civic Center Park at 6:20 a.m. Monday on reports that a man exposed himself, but he had fled the area prior to their arrival.
The suspect was described as an African-American male in his 30’s wearing a brown flannel-type jacket, brown cargo pants, & a red T-shirt.
He is set to appear in court Thursday at 8:00 a.m. at the Larson Justice Center in Indio. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
