Crews cleanup after evening showers in the west valley

Crews were busy cleaning up Thursday morning, after showers form the night before battered much of the west valley.

A roaring rush of water Wednesday night, flows through Cathedral Canyon Dr, forcing it’s closure.

The next morning, all that remained was stagnant water in the shoulder of the road as barriers were removed allowing traffic to pass.

There was also cleanup being done in Palm Springs, with workers removing mud and debris from the roadway, all coming from flooding that caught some residents off guard.

In Araby Cove, this was the aftermath on the main road with mud smeared on the road and small rocks left on the center divider. Despite mess, one homeowner says residents will clean up themselves and took a more positive view of the storm.

“What kind of nice about it too was it washed off that dust storm we had up here so it cleaned everybody’s houses and yards,” Robert Hudson of Palm Springs, said.

Some residents in the city, were pleased with the timeliness of the cleanup to ensure any issues from the storms are swept away.

“It’s great to see that the city is very proactive in making it happen, and beautifying the city back to it’s original state,” Michael Taylor of Palm Springs, said.
