Roads reopen after fast-moving thunderstorms
The National Weather Service put out a flash flood and severe thunderstorm warning for the Coachella Valley Wednesday evening.
KESQ News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 News received reports of rain throughout the Coachella Valley.
Hacienda at Starlight was closed due to flooding. The CHP also closed Palm Drive and Paul Road. The Cathedral City Police Department closed Cathedral Canyon at the wash, asking drivers to use E. Palm or Dinah Shore instead. That Cathedral Canyon wash crossing remained closed as of 5:00 a.m. Thursday morning, but reopened at 6:45 a.m.

We reached out to the Cathedral City and Palm Springs Police Departments about closures in their respective cities. A representative for each agency told us there were no closures at the time.
55 Southern California Edison customers were without power in the Palm Springs area, specifically near city hall. That number was listed as 30 at 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning in Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs.
