Buzz trolley could return to Palm Springs

The Buzz may be back once again in Palm Springs.

At last Wednesday’s city council meeting, Sunline’s executive director presented some options to the city in order for the company to take over the popular shuttle service. The Buzz ended services at the end of June due to costs to the city.

Sunline is proposing four possible scenarios ranging in costs, depending on the days and times the shuttles would run and what frequency. The cost to the city ranges between $200,000 to $300,000 and the shuttle would run from September to April. Sunline also presented year-round plans as well at a higher cost.

The city council agreed to continue the discussion and to allow staff and Sunline come up with feasible contracts. The city council would also need to see what could be cut from the existing budget to bring back the Buzz.
