Palm Springs offering grant program to local businesses
The city of Palm Springs is accepting applications from local businesses for a grant program to help local business operators make facade improvements to storefronts.
The program, available to all Palm Springs businesses, provides a 50 percent match — up to $5,000 — for exterior improvements.
Eligible uses of the grant programs include upgrades to exterior signs, awnings, canopies, sunshades, painting or exterior surface treatment, asphalt paving, replacement or repair of items, and installation or replacement of outdoor landscaping.
While the city will match funds for the work, applicants must hire their own contractors and are responsible for obtaining all design or permit approvals.
“This is fantastic news for the Palm Springs business community. The city is booming right now, but it is important that we continue to develop tools and programs to assist local business owners,” said Nona Watson, CEO of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce. “This innovative grant program is a great way to help businesses keep their storefront fresh and sparkling.”
