Riverside County gas prices drop for 8th straight day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped today for the eighth consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.564.

The average price has dropped 3.6 cents over the past eight days, including six-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3.4 cents less than one week ago and 10.2 cents lower than one month ago but 73.3 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 49.1 cents since the start of the year.

“After a two-week pause, gas prices have resumed dropping locally on news of healthy fuel supplies in California and a reduction in oil prices over the past week,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
