3.1 magnitude quake recorded in Cabazon

A minor earthquake was centered west of Palm Springs near Cabazon Monday morning.

The US Geological Survey said the 3.1 magnitude quake was recorded at 6:40 a.m. and centered due south of Malki Road within a half mile south of Interstate 10.

The quake’s hypocentral depth was 4 miles.

People reported feeling minor movement in Forest Falls, Yucaipa, Cabazon, and Banning.

There were no reports of any injuries or damage from the minor quake.
