Construction begins on Palm Springs segment of CV Link

Construction on another segment of the Palm Springs portion of the CV Link path is now underway.

An existing bike path near Demuth Park was removed Monday morning. The city is planning to build to CV Link standards with improved access to and from the park. Cyclists and pedestrians will be temporarily re-routed around the construction site.

The plan for the CV Link is for it to span about 50 miles across the Coachella Valley, not including the cities of Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells, which have opted out of the project, according to the Coachella Valley Association of Governments.

The first part of the CV Link was completed back in February and stretches from Vista Chino to Ramon Road in Cathedral City.

The segment currently under construction is expected to open in the fall.
