GoFundMe created to help three families affected by Martinez Fire
The community comes together for three families that were left homeless as a result of the Martinez Fire last week in Thermal.
The fire burned 40 acres through the Torress-Martinez Reservation in Thermal a week ago today. The Armijo, Rodelo and Lopez families all lost their homes, RV, and Furniture as a result of the blaze.
It also isn’t the first time one of these families have been affected by a fire. Back in December, the Armijo family lost a newly remodeled mobile home just before Christmas.
“I don’t know where we’re going to go from here. I mean, we’re planning to stay here because we have no other place to stay,” said Sally Lopez, one of the people who lost their homes. “It’s going to be really really hard.”
The Red Cross has given them money to help them get by but they still need more help. You can find the GoFundMe page here, the money will go towards to helping them rebuild.
