Banning police arrest suspect previously on the run
The Banning Police Department confirm suspect who was on the run following a 12-hour stand-off this past weekend is now in custody.
A news release by Banning police revealed the department received an anonymous tip that James Britton, 33, was being harbored by friends at a residence on the 1200 block of Wyte Way in Banning.
Banning Police Department and the Riverside County Gang Impact Team surrounded the residence and Britton was taken into custody without incident.
Britton was originally on the run over the weekend following a 12-hour stand-off on the 2200 block of West Ramsey Street over a domestic disturbance call.

The victim told police Britton had brandished a firearm and made threats against her life. At one point during the stand-off, police realized Britton managed to escape.
During the investigation into the assault, detectives learned that Britton was also wanted in connection with another assault that occurred on July 18 in Banning. Britton also had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Los Angeles County.
The Banning Police Department is asking anyone who may have additional information in regards to this case to contact the Banning Police Department Detective Bureau at (951) 849-1511.
