Palm Springs Aerial Tramway back open

After several days of being closed due to the Cranston Fire, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway reopened Monday at 10 a.m. to visitors, according to tram staff.

The tram had been closed since Thursday when a “precautionary evacuation” was ordered by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department due to the advancing fire. All visitors at the time were taken off the Mountain Station by tram to the Valley Station.

Officials from the Mt. San Jacinto State Park have announced that Long Valley hiking trails will also reopen on July 30. Back-country trails and camping will remain closed.
