I-Team investigates deadly big-rig crash on I-10 near Desert Center
A deadly big-rig crash on the eastbound I-10 freeway near Desert Center remains under investigation.
Video shows the moments after a big rig veered off the road, striking another tractor trailer that was pulled over on the shoulder.
The crash claiming three lives and leaving a young girl seriously hurt.
While the crash remains under investigation, we’ve uncovered the two companies related to this crash and their federal safety records from the past two years, including ratings and any past violations.
The truck that veered off the road is registered to container transfer corporation out of Salt Lake City, Utah.

A company with 19 trucks — and 20 drivers — has been in at least four crashes — one that resulted in injuries.
According to federal safety records, the company had three unsafe driving violations including having an un-authorized passenger onboard.
CHP officers confirmed the girl injured was on this company’s truck but was legal to be on-board.
The truck parked on the shoulder, Kaiser Transport Incorporated out of Janesville, Wisconsin, a company with 42 trucks and drivers.
Records show this company had been in two crashes, none with injuries and racked up 24 unsafe driving violations, the majority for speeding.
Both companies each had satisfactory ratings.
We reached out to both companies, both had no comment on the crash.
The girl’s condition and her relationship to the people inside the container transfer truck remain unknown at this time.
CHP officers also added it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, right now no one is at fault.
