I-Team special report: KESQ Youth Forum
Parkland shook students across the nation to their cores. Driven by rage and grief over one of the deadliest school shootings in modern American history, students from across the country quickly took action, taking a stand against gun violence and pushing for absolute safety on school campuses.
“Well, I actually spearheaded it along with my two friends,” said a student from Shadow Hills High School in Indio, “And we had gotten in touch with our school principal first because we just wanted to make sure it was okay.”
Here at home, we wanted to find out if local students have gotten involved in the movement and what changes they think should take place at the local level. Karen Devine hosted a KESQ youth forum which included 11 students representing the Valley’s 3 local school districts.
