The Cranston Fire, like many other natural disasters, left not only a physical cost but a social weight as well.

Several residents across Idyllwild and several other mountain communities lost their homes and their way of life that they had built for themselves.
Susan and Scott Dunn lost their Mountain Center home in the blaze. They evacuated after Susan had surgery that very same morning.
The Pearson family is also reaching out for help.
“It’s going to take me probably a month to get a handle on it cause I’m trying to work too. My son and my husband are down there doing what they can do and I’m dealing with calling insurance companies and that kind of stuff,” said Emily Pearson.
The family’s mom is a firefighter herself battling the Yosemite Fire, her children aged 9 and 6 need help to rebuild.

Andrea Bond lost her home and most of her possessions in the fire. She’s almost reached her $10,000 goal to rebuild without help from insurance.
Elaine Alghani and Micah Sheiner lost their home in Idyllwild. They were not home but their house and all of their possessions were destroyed, including gongs flutes and drums they use during their practice of sound healing.
