Golf tournament raises money for victims of Cranston Fire

Golf pro Michael Bruchet has a passion for helping others both on the course and off.

His non-profit ministry organization Build a Game for Life hosted a tournament fundraiser on Sunday at the Morongo Golf Club for the victims who lost their homes in the Cranston Fire.

Dozens of sponsors gave $7,000 dollars and counting toward the families in need. The non-profit plans to use the money to rebuild homes, cover construction costs and provide kids with bicycles and other lost items.

Bruchet is organizing a main fundraiser coming up in January which will also donate all proceeds to families affected by the fires in Idyllwild. He hopes to reach his goal of $150,000 dollars.

The Build a Game for Life organization gives back to the community through donations as well as youth mentorship programs for boys ages 12-18. Bruchet organizes skiing, fly fishing, backpacking and golf retreats for the kids. The programs incorporate fitness, strength and nutrition, as well as religious lessons.
