Fire causes $100,000 in damage at Indio apartment complex, no injuries

Fire crews responded to reports of an apartment complex fire at the Andorra Apartments, at the 81000 block of Avenue 46 in Indio. It happened about 5:30 Tuesday morning.

Crews say they arrived to a three-story apartment complex with heavy smoke showing from a second story apartment. Firefighters have contained the fire in about twenty minutes to one unit on the second story.

More than three dozen firefighters responded to the scene. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed at this time.

No injuries reported. Resources will remain on scene for approximately two hours. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The amount of property saved in the firefighting efforts is estimated at $2,500,000.
