Pack of coyotes spotted at Rancho Mirage golf course

A pack of coyotes was caught on video meandering on a golf course in Rancho Mirage Tuesday evening.

Video was sent to us by viewer Cathy Serif shows seven coyotes on the Westin Mission Hills Gary Player course at around 7 p.m. Serif says she’s often seen a few at a time, but never this many.

Serif wants to warn people to make sure their pets are not left alone as they are sometimes preyed upon by coyotes.

“We have a small terrier mix that we walk and are very guarded because they live in a den directly behind our house on the golf course. We used to have a ton of rabbits around but not anymore. We have heard of neighbors losing their small pets to coyotes. When they’re in a pack they will attempt to take the dog right from a leash,” Serif told CBS Local 2 & KESQ.

Seriff says the golf course has been closed for maintenance the last couple of days so no golfers were around.
