Mantanona brings back bronze representing United States

Former Palm Desert standout wrestler Anthony Mantanona represented the United States at the Junior Pan American Championships in Fortaleza, Brazil bringing home a 3rd place bronze medal in greco roman style.

The bronze medalist will now begin his journey to a hopeful gold medal on Sunday when the freestyle division begins.

Mantanona became a California State Champion back in March of 2017 and now is going into his 2nd year with the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Aztec is expected to play a key part in the Sooners’ 2018 squad after redshirting his freshman year.

Mantanona will also represent the United States at the Junior World Championships this September in Slovakia.
