Detectives said they chatted with Mayer for five days. During that time, Mayer allegedly sent nude pictures of himself and told the boy to go to his residence in Menifee for the weekend so they could engage in sexual acts.

Mayer allegedly made arrangements to meet and pick up the boy at an agreed-upon location in Rancho Cucamonga so he could take him back to his residence for the night. The news release adds that on Friday at about 4:30 p.m., Mayer left Nicolet Middle School to go to the meet-up location, where detectives were waiting to arrest him.

Mayer has been booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

According to the official website for NMS, before becoming dean of students, Mayer was a sixth-grade English language arts and social sciences teacher at the school.

Detectives are concerned Mayer has previously met with and engaged in sexual acts with other teenage boys. Anyone that recognizes Mayer or has information pertinent to the investigation, is urged to call detectives at (909) 477-2800, extension 2850.
