Musical theater performance series coming to Rancho Mirage amphitheater

A new musical theater performance series is coming to Rancho Mirage Community Park.

The LimonCarr Production Company will be bringing a new type of entertainment to the Rancho Mirage amphitheater.

“I think this will bring culture to the city more than it has..it will bring revenue to the city through the sale of tickets here and through people patronizing restaurants and things like that,” said Joshua Carr, stage producer for LimonCarr.

Rancho Mirage recently opened their new planetarium and created a partnership with LimonCarr to increase tourism in the area.

“We thought this is perfect this is a great venue. This is something we can offer and bring to Rancho Mirage and partnership up with and start another theater group all over again,” said Ray Limon, artistic director for LimonCarr.

LimonCarr is based out of Southern California. The group has performed musical theatre for over 25 years throughout San Diego and Orange County.

“Between the two of us we have 350 to 400 shows in Southern California and all over the united states,” Carr said.

“I think anywhere you can add more arts and entertainment to the community it just enhances everything the whole community it brings people here and everyone benefits from it you can’t have too many arts programs,” Limon said.

LimonCarr’s first show will be “Big Band Christmas” in December and a there is already a full slate of shows planned using local talent in 2019.

“I think its great for the city because it brings in a new element to the city of musical theater in an open-air amphitheater. I haven’t seen anywhere in the desert other than Coachella and places like that that do more concerts”
