After a brief chase, CHP detains driver for alleged failure to yield

After 10+ mile chase on I-10 westbound, officers from the California Highway Patrol have detained a driver for allegedly failing to yield. The pursuit began shortly before 11:50 a.m. today.

The pursuit began after CHP received a call about a possibly disabled vehicle parked alongside the freeway near the Washington Street exit on the 10. The vehicle, a white Toyota, sped off after CHP officers arrived on scene.

The pursuit continued for around 12 miles until the driver pulled over between the Bob Hope Drive and Date Palm Drive exits on the freeway near Cathedral City.

No lanes were shut down and traffic was not impacted by the incident. No one was injured.
