Oceanside man charged in Idyllwild stabbing case
A felony assault with a deadly weapon charge was filed today against an ex-con who allegedly stabbed another man several times in Idyllwild, and was on the lam for two days before being arrested near the crime scene.
Jeremy Greene, 23, of Oceanside, is also charged with two felony counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, involving a .22-caliber handgun he was prohibited from owning due to prior San Diego County convictions for evading arrest and firearm possession, according to the criminal complaint.
Greene is accused in the Aug. 21 stabbing of an unidentified man in the 26000 block of state Route 243. The victim was found about 8:30 p.m. with multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds and was taken to a hospital, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Willison.
“Deputies canvassed the area and were unable to immediately locate the suspect,” Willison said.
Greene was found last Thursday, hiding at a property in the 25800 block of state Route 243, just up the street from the stabbing scene, the sergeant said.
He’s slated to make his initial court appearance in a Murrieta courtroom this afternoon.
