Lockdown lifted at Indio High School following confrontation near campus

Indio High School is on lockdown following a confrontation near the campus.

According to Mary Perry, public information officer of the Desert Sands Unified School District, a witness reported seeing a weapon during the incident, which took place at a little after 3:05 p.m. Classes are dismissed at 2:45 p.m.

The campus was placed on lockdown out of precaution. Indio police officers were on campus verifying that none of the suspects in the confrontation were inside the campus. It’s currently unknown if the suspects were students.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 3:45 p.m.
