Felon arrested on weapons charges in Coachella
A previously convicted felon was arrested on weapons charges in Coachella on Sunday.
On Oct. 21 at 11:16 a.m. Coachella Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 84000 block of Calendula in Coachella. Responding officers located a residence which had been struck with bullets upon arrival and began to sweep the area.
During the search of the area, they discovered a second residence which had been struck by bullets. Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Thermal station acquired and served a search warrant on the second residence, and found several firearms and ammunition in the residence.
Froilan Ramirez, 39, of Coachella was then arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms, possession of a stolen firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition. He was booked in Indio Jail.
